Roma is the main service centre in the Maranoa region offering a variety of accommodation options whether you’re travelling for work, to attend the Roma Cup Races or a rodeo. Located in town, take your pick from the Central Motel, Best Western hotel or the Explorers Inn function centre. Other places to stay that are ideal for groups and are family-friendly include the Villa Holiday Park, a unique farm stay or the option of a caravan park.

Head further afield to the spectacular Carnarvon Gorge National Park. Boobook Tours can take you to the park from Roma, or stay at Takarakka Bush Resort on Carnarvon Creek while you explore walking trails, Aboriginal rock art, towering sandstone cliffs and dinosaur plants.

Home to the biggest cattle sale yards in Australia, you’re sure to get a taste of outback life in Roma, located just half-a-day's drive (476kms), or one hour's flight, west of Brisbane. From the airport

Roma Airport is located approximately seven kilometres from the town centre off the Carnarvon Highway. Rental car companies operate in the terminal and taxi services are also available.

From Brisbane airport

QantasLink flights between Brisbane and Roma are operated in partnership with the Queensland Government.

Around town

Bus Queensland operates services between Roma and other Outback Queensland cities.
